Friday in China!

Friday in China! I woke up very early 2am -3am so it feels like at home! My chronic insomnia has actually helped with the jet lag and time changes.  Mary Bailey woke up at 5am.  We snuggled sitting in the desk chair with the soft white down comforter and looked out the window. It was nice sitting in our hotel room on the 15th floor watching the sun rise over the city of Guangzhou.  Around 8am we ventured down to the breakfast buffet.  On the way we stopped and took photos of the girls in front of the massive Christmas tree in the lobby. 

We had the fabulous free (included with room fee) breakfast buffet! It is actually more of a brunch buffet as there were noodles and a pork stir fry rice option, salad, etc.  An interesting note - along with the dispenser containers of juices there was "watermelon" juice.  I had only forgotten that baked beans are a staple on Chinese breakfast buffets.  This was a first for me. The Cascade Cafe which offers the breakfast buffet is aptly named as you can see the gorgeous waterfall from the windows.  The back wall of the restaurant is all glass and looks out on the fish ponds, waterfalls, and gardens.  It is a magnificent and peaceful view.  We met a family from Madison, Alabama who was seated beside us.  They adopted a precious little boy. Very small world!  After breakfast we walked through the gardens behind the hotel.
